DRAFTING!

Selected Object- Nail Polish

In my Design Visualization class we have been working on pictorials!  I had to select an object and orthographically draw it.  Once I had completed that we were asked to draw three pictorials of it; Isometric, Elevation Oblique, and Plan Oblique.    Above is my final project.
I thought this was one of the most challenging projects thus far because of the detail!  I also have a really hard time with circles.  I know how to use the four point system and triangle method, and they look correct on trace paper, however when I try to trace the circle on Vellum it doesn't look quite as good!  I have to work on circles!

Object A and B- Isometric

We continued working on our pictorial views by drawing two objects given to us in orthographic views on paper in full scale.  Object A was definitely the more challenging of the two because of all the 30 or 45 degree angles I had to draft!  With the isometric view I think the only trouble I had was making the angles consistantly 30 degrees as well as making the circles look like one perfect line again!

Object A and B- Plan Oblique

I enjoyed drafting the plan oblique.  This is the newest view we've learned.  I like the way it turned out better than the Isometric.

Object A and B- Elevation Oblique

The Elevation Oblique always looks a little funny because we havn't learned to shorten the lines yet!  I think it turned out  nicely except I forgot to draw the back center line for Object B!
Overall I think I'm improving a lot since the beginning of the year!  I'm pretty happy with my line weight, and I think my format is usually pretty good-although it could improve in some (the drawings are always bigger than you think they will be!) and I think I understand how to do all three pictorials (finally)!  However, I still want my hand writing to improve and my circles definitely need some improving!  I also just need to check over my work to make sure I don't forget any lines.
